8/4/08 Climbing season is in full swing on Independence Pass and other areas like Rifle, which is a world renowned destination.
5/21/08 Last weekend was the first time i skinned up to a high camp and skied for the weekend. we camped at about 13,500' and skied the two fourteeners there. we skied Conundrum Peak 14,060' once via a steep lightning bolt shaped shute and then over to Castle Peak 14,250' and skied the north shute. sunday we skied twice down the north face on good powder. i'll never forget that weekend ever...soo good!
5/13/08 Still snowing and the skiing is great! Did mt. Hayden just up the road from aspen and it was a good summit and ski. Right now trying to figure out what to ski tomarrow. Wow, what a season here, I think this has been the best winter in a long time for most of us.
3/2/08 Snowmass Freeride just finished and was a huge "huckfest" ! I ended up with a 10th place finish and overall it was a good time as always. we got 18 inches the day after, wish we could have had it for the comp, but i'll take it anytime. check the pics page for a photo of my qualifying day huck at headwall.
2/11/08 Telluride comp goes off! just got back from t-ride, and the "aspen ripper factory" as we have been dubbed, took 2nd, 5th, 13th, 16th(me), and 19th places for a strong showing. i came into the finals in last place at 36th and boosted myself up to 16th with a hard line choice that included a 50' front flip off a cliff at the end which also got me my first "Sickbird" nomination for the sickest run of the comp. i didn't win the award, that is a memorial belt buckle for Tobias Lee, but it was nice to get that recognition. next comp is at home here in snowwmass,co. check back soon for footie of my finals run. you can also check out www.usfreeskiing.com for more info, pics, and tour dates.
12/18/07 wow! what a beginning with the huge dumps last weekend and just having my UCL fixed (thats my thumb ligament). i'll still be out skiing and competing this season after a few days of rest to let this start to heal. my new sponsor this season is Swany/Hotfingers, which are burly and warm-ass gloves. hope this will be the year for more pow and great comp finishes! PRAY FOR SNOW beeeitches!!!!!!
5/07 got in two runs today on Idependence Pass in "fourth of july bowl"! that is the latest i've ever skied in the season. can't wait for next season!
4/1/07 just missed the cut at the snowbird comp by .75 of a point...argh!!!!!!!!!!! just got a good dump here in aspen on thurs. skied a backcountry run on sat. off highlands ridge, "desolation bowl". it was sick! hit the park today since it was about 60 degrees out.
3/3/07 just wrapped up the snowmass comp. got 9th place...even better, i did my biggest front flip soo far...60feet!!!!!!! heaeding to snowbird now.
2/12/07 the telluride comp was sick! pulled off a 13th place finish! ready fror the butte now.
2/5/07 got a good dump on thurs. the 1st and got in some filming too. gotta love that wind loaded side!
2/1/07 X-games be gone!!! they have finally packed up and left town and took all the kiddies with them. i've never seen so many punks in my life (except for myself) in one spot. but thats livin in aspen for ya. heading down to telluride this week (8th-11th) for the first comp of the/my season. super stoked and just want to do well, not crash and see my "winter" friends. check out the site www.usfreeskiing.com for details on any date.
1/15/07 weekend duuuuump in aspen! got the big one on friday night . this marks the most "face shots" in one day(all day) for me ever! on sunday the backcountry was just as good , powder and firing off guns, yeehaw!
