-We here in Aspen have just lost a great friend and rippin skier, we'll miss you John Nicoletta!

I started skiing at the age of 14 on the trash heaps in michigan, where i grew up.

I instantly loved skiing and everything about it. I really learned to ski after moving to crested butte for a season, when i was 23. Now, i'm 32 years old and have been in aspen, colorado for 6 years. I have been trying my skills in the competition circuit for 5 years now. it's really sick to ski against, but also with, the people that think the same way about skiing as i do. It is an excellant community/family to be a part of.

The '07-'08 year was awsome! I went to more freeride comps and got out shooting with the camera more. I have had numerous photos in the local newspapers as well as a front page photo and a full page photo in an article on the massive amounts of snow Aspen/Snowmass has been getting this year. I was also an athlete featured in an article on the "Aspen Ripper Factory", about the large group of skiers from here that travel to freeride comps together and always wow the judges. http://aspentimes.com/article/20080329/RECREATION01/410808656                                I learned a lot more about how to ski a competition better, as well as up my personal ability. This season I have placed consistantly well at 3 out of 4 events, either in the top 10 or 20. I have made tons of new friends in the community, as well as many photographers and industry insiders. I have also been moving forward with my skiing level and involvment in the sport/industry. On the first stop of the North American Freeride Tour I got a 16th place finish (from 36th, last, going into the finals) and recieved a "Sickbird" nomination for my finals run which included a 50' front flip. The "Sickbird" is the award for the strongest, burliest run of the comp. In the Snowmass Freeride I ended up with a 10th place finish. Jackson went well also, and I ended up in 19th place. I am anticipating hitting the comps next year with the "Aspen Ripper Factory"!

I've also been rock climbing for 16 years now, and  have recently been putting up new routes. I do it all, from sport cragging, cracks, soloing aid routes in the desert, and freeing the big stone in the black canyon of CO. I also like taking the motor bike out for a moshing in the mtns.

I really just love to ski. i ski the same way, whether i'm with six people or out by myself ripping. I would love the opportunity to test some quality products and proudly display them doing what i do best in photos, video, and print ads.

"Any day in the mountains is a good day , especially if you're in the " white room", where nothing else matters and time stands still"!

A huge thanx to any sponsors for your consideration! I can't wait for the next comp!!!
